Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Haven't been online in a while. Been very busy wrapping up our last days in the Palm Beach County, well, Jupiter that is. I am writing this in the West Palm International Airport while waiting for the flight to Binghamton in upstate New York. Turkey is waiting for us there. This is a brief post and I am wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. Giving thanks for all the bounty is I think the greatest holiday of all.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells….

I cry so easily these days. I don't know why. Even for no reasons at all it seems that the well that is in my tear ducts are too shallow, it tend to always over flow.

So yesterday, I was in the Gardens Mall and as soon as I set foot at Macy's, a merry rendition of Jingle Bells is screaming in the sound system, the sales lady in the perfume department was dancing to the tune and waving me to come sniff her samples. Unfortunately I am allergic to strong perfumes so I passed. Everybody seems to be in a good mood, Christmas is everywhere. Malls are all decked suggesting that its time for Christmas shopping. I have not done yet my shopping. I'm waiting for the Black Friday specials maybe I could get something special.

So, Jingle bells is supposed to be a joyful song, it is so wonderfully cheerful, I started crying. What is happening to me?

The Corum Watch Collection

I can't help but laugh when I remember the very first day I owned my very first watch. I always wanted to own a watch even before I learned how to read the time. I would secretly steal my sisters' watches and wear them like a little kid in a watch fashion show. I don't care if they are too big for my skinny wrist or too silly for me to read it, I just want to have my own watch.

Then one day, I got a second hand watch from my 40 year old Aunt who had been obviously watching my fashion shows. It was an old watch so vintage for a 4 year old girl to wear, but it was a watch nonetheless. I was happy to be the new owner of a 1940s citizen watch my Aunt doesn't want anymore. My Uncle took out most parts of the bracelet in an attempt to make smaller and fit an anorexic looking 4 year- old. We end up putting masking tapes around my wrist to keep it from falling. I felt wonderful and proud of my new possession and proudly show off to my thumb sucking circle of friends.

Another year later I was introduced to Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, and some funny looking cartoon characters only then I was able to comprehend how comical I was in that vintage watch.

I must have developed a fetish for I lost track how many watches I own. I have sports, casual, formal, leather, metal in colors that match my attire.

For months now, I've been admiring this beautiful Corum watches on The Watchery.com to add to my collection. I know one day I must have it. They have a complete list of luxury watches with only the highest quality that comes with serial number and authenticity. You may also want to check this attractive corum bubble collection, they are running fast. Visit The Watchery.com and avail of up to 80% discount on most brands.

How to remove wax on linens

Oh hey, how could I forget? I was a candle maker once upon a time and I made and sold thousands of candles especially during All Souls day and Christmas. I enjoyed doing it as a hobby then people started buying my candles and soon it became another business. My mother's kitchen became my work area and had been the source of all those candles I have sold in the cemetery. No, I did not have a stall in the cemetery; people just buy them for their dead.

In the process, I have spilled wax on the table and unintentionally made a mosaic of candle drippings in the whole kitchen floor. It wasn't the kind of art my Mother appreciated, but something that is so painful for me to remove afterwards specially the ones I made on her special embroidered table cloth that only materializes on special occasions – yes, because it is so special. Imagine the pandemonium when she discovers the next art I have fashioned on her treasured collection.

I tried the technique I used to remove candle wax drippings from the table cloth and it actually worked for the skin wax drippings on our linens.

Here's what you will need:

  1. Flat iron
  2. Clean bond paper or brown paper which ever is available
  3. Mild liquid detergent
  4. Warm water

Then follow these steps:

  1. Allow wax to dry hard
  2. Cover the drippings with the paper completely
  3. Iron the spot where the drippings are
  4. Repeat the ironing process several times until all the wax have transferred to the paper
  5. Wash the spot with warm water and mild soap, rub gently and rinse.

It worked! Now I don't have to buy new bedding anymore.

Is tummy tuck procedure for you?

Why are these celebrities we see on screen so beautiful it seems they are indestructible by what ever they ingest in their gullet. Or do they ever eat at all to maintain their goddess perfect figure everybody on the other side of the tube so covet themselves possesses. Why are we not all the same? Why are there people like mannequins and why are there people like portraits of the renaissance?

OK, ok, we can't have it all. It must be really hard to be Heidi Klum or Naomi Campbell if you are gifted with an appetite that will eradicate the whole cattle industry of Texas. It requires a great measure of self control to be around a place with great restaurants waving in every direction you go. Now, you can't fit in your old clothes anymore and if your waistline exceeded the ideal model figure, blame it on the great food that surrounds you.

When those food sediments start piling in your tummy you are now a portrait of renaissance. Unfortunately, you live in the epoch where toothpick hood is the norm. You think you are due for a tummy tuck?

Seriously, what is tummy tuck? A tummy tuck is a surgery that tightens weak or stretched muscles and removes excess skin creating a flat and toned abdomen. This surgery is very common these days. There is also a procedure called mini tummy tuck. This procedure is ideal for people with excessive fats between the belly button and the pubic bone due to the accumulation of excess fatty tissue as well as the flaccidity of the lower stomach muscles.

It always feels so good to be in the right size and the right figure. I have nothing against cosmetic surgery; just go to the right surgeon who will make you really look pretty beacuse you don't want to be one of the characters on the TV show "cosmetic surgery gone wrong".

Wax makes you scream!

My husband begged me to wax his back of unwanted hair so I got microwavable wax at Sally with some epilating muslins and sticks and set our bedroom for waxing. I never did it before so I just followed the instructions at the back of the jar.

After microwaving the wax on high for 30 seconds I, I generously spread the wax on Greg's back and meticulously placed the epilating cloth one by one to cover his back. The moment of truth was very unbearable as I pulled the cloth a loud scream shook the whole building. 7 muslins equal 7 loud screams as if someone is being slaughtered. Poor Greggy. I will never try to torture myself pulling off those hairs. I don't have it in the first place.

Removing those hairs was what bothered Greg, now that it has been solved, removing those wax I spilled on the sheet is what bothers me now. Any advice on how to remove wax from linens? I need help.

Sally Beauty Company Reward

As you know, I've been with Sally Beauty Co. since May. It is my very first job in the US and I enjoyed working for them. It's location is very convenient to our house and the people I work with are all superb. So sad that we are moving from Jupiter to Arcadia at the end of this month. My notice of separation was given with great effort to control my tears from running through my nose. I will surely miss the times at Sally.

But before I go, Sally rewards. I got this awesome leisure kit, a neat little kit that includes a 8x21 PowerView compact binocular, a soft-side lunch box cooler, and a compact AM/FM radio with ear bud head phones, which can come handy when Greg starts taking up hunting.

Thank you Sally Beauty Co. I appreciate the gift immensely.

The conveniences of modern technology

I was born in the mid 60s. Now you know. It was a well guarded secret and I am now broadcasting for the whole world to know. Hey, I am no longer afraid of counting the years. Anyway, I grew up during the time when communication takes forever, cellphones were unheard of, the internet was not even invented and we were content to watch prime time TV in black and white. I thought we were already living in luxury.

Many years had passed, technological advancement made its way and introduced modern conveniences making black and white TV a thing of the past. Soon communication travelled rapidly thanks to the cellphones and internet that overshadowed snail mails and telegrams. Welcome to the world of modern technology.

I don't know how I managed to live then. I can never imagine my life without the conveniences of cable TV, internet and phone. The wave of modern technology was just too strong to resist that it became part of our daily lives. And soon demand for services stir up prompting service providers to sprout from everywhere offering many products and services too confusing if you understand.

Bridgevine has done extraordinary steps to connect consumers, services and trusted brands all in one place. It is the best source of comparison shopping that gives you price information about cable TV bundles, internet and phone services. They have partnered with top cable and internet providers in your area to provide you with the most modern conveniences of today's technology. The one stop shop that locates the best provider with the best cable TV bundle offer that is right for your needs.

Its over, Its Obama

Finally, it is over. After months of following the campaign trail, listening to lengthy debates and the endless promises, and weighing the best options, the American people had finally elected the first black US President that is -- Barack Obama.

The whole world cheer for Obama and while I, an onlooker in this whole arena, an immigrant and therefore not yet qualified to vote, cheer with a renewed hope that the slowing US economy will take a leap and start to turn to the opposite direction. I carry in me a mountain of hope that one day I will wake up, the economy has recovered, jobs are created, and war is no longer an issue.

Obama has a long way to go. He will face a tough time and will face the challenging demands of solving the problems left behind by the incumbent administration. He shouted for change, and the shout was heard by the whole world and the Amercian people voted for change. May that shout resounds even louder now that he had been chosen to sit in the White House. The whole world is watching for when the day those promises are realized and thus the US and the whole world will cheer again because those promises have come to life.

And most of all, I won't be seeing those filthy political ads so disgusting it makes me sick. Thank goodness, it's over!

Black Friday shopping made easy

Time flies so fast, isn't it? It seems only yesterday when I had my first taste of stuffed turkey on Thanksgiving. 22 days from now it is Thanksgiving again. Add to it another 24 days and we will be gathering in the Christmas table and soon we will be exchanging gifts with our loved ones. Hmm, I love the spirit of Christmas .It is the time where families unite, share love and gifts, the sharing of stories about each member of the family's latest adventures or misadventures just endlessly flows, and the songs that fill the air just makes me even more nostalgic. I am starting to feel really homesick now.

Ok, before my tears run a river, let's take care of the Christmas shopping list first. Whew, my husband hates shopping, I love it. Let me get it straight, it is not the shopping itself that he dreads because he loves shopping online. But dragging him to the mall will make him berserk. So I better not. Shopping I think is one of many women's passions.

For those who, like my husband, dread to go to the malls but needs to pick up his long Christmas list, don't fret. At Black Friday online, you can find all the greatest deals in almost all major participating stores such as Kohls, Macy's, JCPenny, Home depot, Lowes, Bed Bath and beyond, Old Navy, Pacsun and many more. You can browse from their black friday ads (BFAds) to see what's on sale. BFAds will help you shop at your favorite stores without leaving the comfort of your home. Save and get the best deals like mall shopping without the hassles of actually going to the malls.
