Its over, Its Obama

Finally, it is over. After months of following the campaign trail, listening to lengthy debates and the endless promises, and weighing the best options, the American people had finally elected the first black US President that is -- Barack Obama.

The whole world cheer for Obama and while I, an onlooker in this whole arena, an immigrant and therefore not yet qualified to vote, cheer with a renewed hope that the slowing US economy will take a leap and start to turn to the opposite direction. I carry in me a mountain of hope that one day I will wake up, the economy has recovered, jobs are created, and war is no longer an issue.

Obama has a long way to go. He will face a tough time and will face the challenging demands of solving the problems left behind by the incumbent administration. He shouted for change, and the shout was heard by the whole world and the Amercian people voted for change. May that shout resounds even louder now that he had been chosen to sit in the White House. The whole world is watching for when the day those promises are realized and thus the US and the whole world will cheer again because those promises have come to life.

And most of all, I won't be seeing those filthy political ads so disgusting it makes me sick. Thank goodness, it's over!
