My Halloween Costume

Halloween is just around the corner, who would you want to be like this year?

Halloween is such a big event here in the US. Back where I came from, a predominantly Catholic country, it was considered a pagan celebration. Not anymore. Every year, businesses specially the major malls start hanging Halloween decorations as early as September along side the playing of Christmas Carols that serves as a reminder to shoppers to start shopping for the holidays. Call it a sales pitch, but it surely works. People started decorating houses and even adopted the scary spirit on Halloween. Halloween parties are now part of the annual celebration that used to be unheard of when I was growing up. At least, not in my part of the globe.

In Virac, since the Virac Ladies Circle started the Halloween trick or treat seven years ago for the Ladies' kids and nieces and nephews to enjoy and parade in their costumes around town, it continue through the years. I am glad I was instrumental to it. Some conservative Catholics opposed the idea but the kids surely had the greatest fun. At least they experience Halloween we never enjoyed as kids.

This year, were having a Halloween Party here in Jupiter and I want to be a witch. Choosing from big selections at Halloween Adventure, a witch best personifies the other side of me. I will come in my witchfull thinking attire and surprise my friends, they'd never seen me other than my usual predictable business attire. This will surely be an enjoyable Halloween Party.
